Congenital Unilateral Renal-Seminal Vesicle Agenesis: CT Urography Clues in a Man With Gross Hematuria

The primary clinical question was the source of the bleeding, but the examination revealed an unexpected congenital genitourinary anomaly. The left kidney was normally formed, whereas the right renal parenchyma was not identified. The right renal artery and vein were also absent. The right adrenal gland appeared elongated and flattened rather than normally triangular, and the right seminal vesicle was not clearly visualized. Taken together, these findings support congenital unilateral renal-seminal vesicle agenesis . The diagnostic lesson is broader than the diagnosis itself. An absent kidney on CT should never automatically be labeled renal agenesis.
